About Brasilia

Brasilia is Brazil's federal capital and most modern metropolis. Founded by former president Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira in 1960, the city was desinged and planned to be the capital of the 21st century.

Kubitschek hired the country most notorious architect to design the new public buildings that would house the government after the city was built. Many of Oscar Niemeyer's most renowned projects were made during this period to serve this commission.

Brasilia is a young metropolis with a pulsing nightlife, with many bars and clubs. The city will also host seven matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, to be held from mid-June to mid-July, 2014 (click here to see which matches will be played in Brasilia).
